“Since the beginning of the year, we are down 35% compared to the same period last year. The main reason is the decline in exports to China. Our exports to China have cumulatively decreased by around 80% since the beginning of the year.” – said a representative of Russia’s exclusive electricity exporter at the Energy for Consumers conference.
Alexandra Panina He explained that the reason remained the same: the eastern energy system could not restore supplies to China.
“The same situation persisted when the Amurskaya-Heihe line was disconnected on November 9 last year and remains in a disconnected state. Not once during this period was it possible to activate this line. Therefore, a small volume of about 67-113 MW is exported to the isolated area of China,” said the representative of Inter RAO.
According to him, the situation regarding water availability in the Eastern energy system has become calmer, but reserves are still being accumulated and preparations are underway for the autumn-winter period.
“If the generation in the Far East comes out of planned and unscheduled repairs and starts operating at full capacity, we may have export volumes. In principle, it is possible that the completion of the generation repair programme will significantly improve the situation.” – added Alexandra Panina.
According to him, Kazakhstan will be the main destination for exports this year. Mongolia also receives quite large volumes, and there were small deliveries to Turkey.
