Did the “Azerigas” provoke the dangerous situation on the Saray bridge?

The bridge connecting the city of Sumgayit with the settlement of Saray is in poor condition.

Drivers using the bridge reported that a dangerous situation had occurred on the bridge located on one of the two main highways from Sumgait to Baku. Citizens claimed that this problem was created by employees of the Production Trade Union (PU) “Azerigas”.

In response to a question from Qafqazinfo, Eldeniz Valiyev, press secretary of the Azerbaijani PU, said that the Absheron-Saray gas pipeline is currently being connected to Sumqayit in the mentioned area:

“This will ensure a more sustainable, secure and uninterrupted gas supply to subscribers living in that area during the autumn and winter. Our employees have started very serious work in this direction. Complaints about the destruction of the bridge are unfounded, there is absolutely no reason for this. Our employees approached the bridge, but did not cross it.”

The institution’s spokesperson said that residents may be disturbed by the heavy equipment involved in the area:

“Therefore, a queue for the passage of cars was maintained, which created a traffic jam. Taking this into account, from September 9, the UP “Azerigas” decided to carry out the work in the night shift. In this way, the traffic jam was also avoided. “We ask citizens not to panic. No damage can be caused to the bridge.”
