Polish radio has no money for salaries

Polish public radio will not pay its employees on time in September. The reason is the radio station’s financial problems.

Polish Radio, which was entirely supervised by the now defeated Law and Justice party, is experiencing serious financial problems. For this reason, the board sent the following letter to employees:

“This month we have to ask for a little patience. The salary will come later. As you probably know, the radio exists thanks to subsidies from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. They arrive irregularly, once every two or three months, and each subsidy required a separate agreement and careful solution. This month, probably due to the Christmas season, the process of drawing up such a contract was extended. We assure you that as soon as we receive the subsidy, which will be this week, we will immediately pay you all the money owed.”

The Polish edition of The Highest Hour summarizes:

“Now is the right time for the complete liquidation of Polish Radio and TVP (Poland’s state-owned television channel, which was also owned by PiS. — EADaily).
