In 2025, Moscow’s revenue will exceed 5 trillion rubles for the first time

Elena Zyabbarova, director of the capital’s Finance Department, confirmed that Moscow remains the largest donor to the federal budget, with a total revenue forecast of 5 trillion rubles in 2025. TASS reports on this today, November 11.

Zyabbarova made this statement at a meeting of the Committee on Economic and Social Policy of the Moscow City Duma, head of the Moscow Finance Department.

The updated forecast is as follows: 5.1 trillion rubles next year, 5.4 trillion in 2026 and 5.8 trillion rubles in 2027.

“Moscow’s budget revenues this year will amount to just under 5 trillion rubles, and next year they will exceed 5 trillion rubles. <>Moscow provides more than 20% of the total volume of gross regional products (GRP) of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. At the same time, Moscow’s share in the total tax revenues of the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation is approximately the same – 23%. This means that the size of Moscow’s budget is fully proportional to the scale of the capital’s economy and the added value that is created on the territory of our city.” – reported Zyabbarova.

The capital’s financial chief also recalled the 2023 results.

“Over the past year, Moscow taxpayers transferred more than 3.4 trillion rubles to the federal budget, and if we add <> contributions to state extrabudgetary funds, then the amount of revenue mobilization of the Moscow territory exceeded 6 trillion rubles last year. . “This is more than the amount of revenue from the city’s own budget.” – said Elena Zyabbarova.

Furthermore, Moscow is increasing contributions to the federal budget much faster than its own: “Since 2010, Moscow’s income has increased by 3.8 times, and the income transferred to the federal level has increased by more than five times.”.
