The Russian government plans to reduce the staff of territorial divisions of state bodies by 10% by July 1, 2025.

The reform is expected to affect 400,000 people.
According to the publication, the salaries of laid-off employees will go toward increasing the salaries of those who continue to work.
The authorities are reported to be waiting for proposals from departments, including on digitalization, which should improve work efficiency with fewer employees.
It should be noted that some institutions will reduce only vacant positions.
At the same time, the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, which oversees administrative reform, said that they accept a 10% staff reduction as a target, but in reality this proportion may be higher.
