The Consell de Mallorca has today begun work to replace 63 palm trees in the pedestrian area of the Paseo Marítimo in Palma, for safety reasons. This is the result of visual and advanced assessments carried out on a total of 105 palm trees belonging to the municipality located between Passeig Sagrera, Dalt Murada and Plaza Llorenç de Villalonga.

The felling of these nine palm trees is planned for this Wednesday and Thursday by the UTE Jardiners de Ponent maintenance contract.
The replacement of these specimens will be carried out during the next palm replacement campaign, scheduled for May-July 2025, as it is not recommended to plant palm trees in autumn and winter as they are warm plants and these seasons are generally colder and less suitable for their development.
