The PSOE reiterates that in the emergency contracts formalized by the SAS after 2021 to organize health services with private companies, there were “attack on public funds” and misuse of the legal formula of emergency contracts (without competition and with limited procedures) without the protection of the greater flexibility introduced during the pandemic.
In this sense, the secretary general of the PSOE-A, Juan Espadas, rejected that the two legal reports that are part of the investigation and on which the Andalusian government’s argument focuses validate the use of emergency contracts for the health concerts which They finally reached 240 million euros after signing a maximum of four extensions.
“The Andalusian Government must stop lying. What the SAS legal reports say is that emergency contracts are an extraordinary means only in certain specific cases and for a maximum duration which has been largely exceeded”, declared the secretary general of the PSOE-A, who stressed that these two reports are integrated into the complaint itself. This document highlights that they have been established based on partial and incomplete information provided by SAS management.
The socialist complaint claims that the use of emergency contracts represented an “economic loss” for the Junta de Andalucía. This conclusion is based on the fact that the use of emergency contracts limits free competition, which generally implies a reduction of prices in the call for tenders. dThis is why the PSOE requested that health care contracts from recent years be included in the investigation. so that an estimate of the depreciation can be made. The complaint filed by the PSOE relates only to one of the emergency contract files signed by the SASwhich refers to the provision of consultations and surgical interventions. It was first presented in the form of a complaint before the court, then was expanded by a complaint which points to crimes of embezzlement of public funds, prevarication and falsification of documents. “Criminal responsibilities will be determined by the courts. Let’s let the courts work and be respectful,” concluded Juan Espadas.
