The government has set a “ceiling” for high-speed train fares between Moscow and St. Petersburg

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev mentioned in an interview this week the maximum cost of future travel on the high-speed railway (HSR) under construction between Moscow and St. Petersburg. TASS reports the details today, September 11.

According to Savelyev, the trip will cost passengers about 10 thousand rubles.

This cost was announced by a member of the Cabinet of Ministers during the Eastern Economic Forum. Savelyev also recalled the high cost of the high-speed rail project. We are talking about 1.5 trillion rubles without associated costs and 1.755 trillion rubles already incurred.

“According to (financial – EADaily) model, one ticket will cost about 10 thousand rubles,” – said Savelyev.

EADaily Please note that the Russian Ministry of Transport has agreed to start construction of the high-speed railway in 2024. It is planned to employ around 39 thousand workers.
