In the Afghan province of Faryab, permission has been given to build a school for girls.

In the most remote village of Qaisar district in Faryab province, construction of a school for girls has begun. This was a real breakthrough for the country, as the Taliban government* So far, it has not welcomed girls’ education, banning them from attending school after the sixth grade.

According to TOLOnews, the land for this school was donated by local residents and the international organization Save the Children allocated funds for the construction worth 70,000 dollars. According to the authorities, the school will be built within the next six months.

Head of Faryab Education Department Mohammad Tahir Javad fixed:

“This village is one of the remotest in Qaisar district where neither boys nor girls schools had buildings. Fortunately, today we witnessed the laying of the foundation of one of these schools and we assure them that if people send their children to school, we will solve all their problems.”

According to local residents, no attention has been paid to education in this village for the past two decades. There are only two teachers for approximately 300 students. Lessons were held outdoors.

According to the Faryab Education Department, there are currently 498 schools in the province, with approximately 305,000 students.
