Check out the entire September program of the Salón Rico Talent Laboratory here

The director of the Talent Laboratory, Juan Sebastian Dominguezpresented this Wednesday the companies selected to perform within the framework of the program of the Consortium of the City of Toledo, Globalcaja and the Globalcaja HXXII Foundation with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, which has the sole objective of supporting and promoting the performing arts and musicals of Castilla-La Mancha.

They will be “two weeks full of talent from Castilla-La Mancha”he announced. As a preview, the artist Ellen Lange offered a live preview of his performance, as reported by Globalcaja in a press release.

As Domínguez explained, in the first phase of the program, a total of 16 companies will present their shows to the public, with free admission until capacity is reached, from September 12 to 15 and from 19 to 22 at the Rico Hall in Toledo and its square. The shows that have the hall as a stage space will begin at 8:00 p.m., while those that take place in the square will do so at 9:15 p.m.

Juan Sebastian Dominguez stressed that the companies participating in the Talent Laboratory are from all the provinces of Castilla-La Mancha, as well as people from Castilla-La Mancha who left the region to train or develop their disciplines and now have the opportunity to return. In the selection of companies and artists, “we touch on all genres, that is one of the advantages of the Talent Laboratory”, he assured. Thus, this Thursday 12, the Talent Laboratory opens its doors with “Profecía”, a contemporary dance show by Kevin Cachucho, at the Salón Rico, while the square will be filled with color with an aerial circus show by Arrójate with “Hidden Recollections.”

Friday the 13th, Ellen Lange opens the performances with the performance “Kristina’s Journey”, in which she mixes painting, music and live theater. The square will host flamenco dancing thanks to Fragua and her “Pureza”.

By September 14th Silvia Nogales has prepared ‘Seda’, a musical and audiovisual show with recited pieces, to continue with ‘Versados en Nueva Orleans’ by Javier Casado and Ana Ortiz, in which they mix jazz and poetry live.

On Sunday, Oretania presents her “Mille Nuits”, a theatrical performance, after which Angela Brun will perform “L’Ange Terrestre”, a performance piece.

Second week of performances

The second week of performances begins on the 19th with the dance of the Mayte Ballesteros Company. For all audiences, with a special interest for the little ones, the square hosts a humorous show of clowns and mimes with Emilio Samino.

On Friday, La Contraria will be offering a show of object theatre in the hall, an unusual specialty. The square will be the stage in which the Platea Group will perform a reflective play.

On Saturday 21st, the magician Ráferty will bring together boys and girls in a play in which he mixes children’s theatre, magic, clown and object theatre. The next show is radically different, a version of the greatest hits of the zarzuela of CARM UAX.

On the last day of performances, Sunday 22, the Marcos Pereira Company will offer a contemporary dance show at the Salón Rico. At the end, Magocoma Producciones will close the performances with its piece.

In the end, Domínguez recalled, “the Globalcaja Foundation allows 24 people to train with an 80-hour master’s degree in 10 sessions in all the visual arts” at no cost to them, so that the companies “have a good cushion” in their process of professionalization and development of their career during which they will create a new piece of their own production.

To do this, they will have the figure of “very powerful” teachers, who work at national and international level. For this, the Government of Castilla-La Mancha provides the facilities and full-board accommodation at the Castillo de San Servando.

In the third part of the Talent Laboratory, the companies will present their new proposal at the Corral de Don Diego and the Rojas Theater and at the end, one of the companies will participate in the Castilla-La Mancha Performing Arts Fair.

The program director wanted to emphasize the importance of recovering the roots and traditions of the territory, a common link to almost all participating companies, which “brought to the contemporary world constitutes an added value.”

The Laboratorio de Talentos was born as a space to create and experiment, as well as to highlight the performing arts and music, promote local culture and make known to the general public the talents that exist in Castilla-La Mancha. The result of a public-private collaboration, it seeks to make known the work carried out by professional companies or those that work to become so. In the first edition, more than 3,000 people enjoyed the performances.
