Baku TV prepared a report on the first day of COP29 held in Baku within the framework of the “COP-BAKU” project.
It was reported that today is one of the most important days in the history of Azerbaijan. Because COP29, the most prestigious event in the world, has already begun its work in Baku, in the Olympic Stadium.
It was noted that the President of COP28, Sultan Ahmed Al-Jabir, who participated in the opening ceremony of COP29, announced the election of the new president of COP29 and Mukhtar Babayev was officially elected as president of COP29.
Subsequently, the president of COP28 handed Mukhtar Babayev the president’s gavel, a symbol of approval of the decisions. It was also reported that discussions at COP29 traditionally began between scientific research centers:
“Bahçeşehir University in Turkey and the Marine Learning Alliance College in England, in collaboration with the UN, exchanged ideas. The theme is to increase the role of higher education in Europe, Turkey and the countries of the Gulf region in protecting the climate”.
The second Green Zone event is dedicated to the struggle of generations for climate stability. The main goal here is to protect the climate by combining the experience of older people and the innovative approach of young people.
