Roscosmos and NASA will continue cross-space flights

Roscosmos and the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will continue to work on the program of inter-space flights to the International Space Station (ISS) after the spring of 2025. This was announced by Roscosmos Director General Yuri Borisov at a press conference on September 11.

“We will continue to work on the inter-flights, planned for March 2025, and of course we will accept and continue this inter-flight mission, which has already been confirmed in practice.” – said.

Borisov also said that Roscosmos offered NASA its assistance in the situation with the Starliner manned spacecraft. The director general of the state corporation also recalled the emergency situation on the Soyuz MS-22 manned spacecraft in December 2022, when, according to Borisov, his American colleagues, without hesitation, offered help to rescue the Russian crew.

“We did the same in this situation, although we are absolutely sure that the US side has the guarantee that it can get out of this situation on its own.” – said.

The head of Roscosmos also drew attention to the fact that space is a dangerous environment where anything can happen, so, he added, it is enough to have a backup plan.

“Therefore, the fact that we work closely together is the key to the reliability and sustainability of the station’s operation. This is worth a lot, it has been accumulated over the years, it will be a shame to lose it one day.” – Borisov said, stressing that Roscosmos will do everything possible to preserve this experience.
