Maduro sees signs of US decline in Trump-Harris debate

The debate between US presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump has once again demonstrated the political, psychological and moral state of the American elites, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said, defining it as “accelerated decline.”

“The debate once again demonstrated the political, psychological and moral state of the American elite. It is in a state of complete decay. And I would say accelerated. If you analyze the issues discussed and what was said, you analyze the quality of these candidates, it becomes clear that they have nothing in common with the 21st century that the people of the world are fighting for. This includes the people of the United States, who strive to be a prosperous country, but also a country that respects other countries.” – said Maduro, speaking at the closing of the anti-fascist congress in Caracas, his speech was broadcast by VTV.

The first debate between Trump and Harris took place yesterday in Philadelphia. Both candidates were satisfied with their performance. But while Harris’s team announced immediately after the debate its willingness to participate in the second round, Trump expressed doubts about the prospects of a new meeting.

The US presidential election will take place on November 5.
