The State Traffic Police of Baku has issued an appeal to drivers in connection with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix “Formula 1”.
Oku.Az reports that the request states:
“Considering the restriction of traffic on some streets and avenues in connection with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix “Formula 1”, which will start tomorrow, especially at the southern gate of the capital, in order to ensure traffic safety and avoid traffic congestion, drivers are kindly requested to drive from the south towards the center, i.e. “Azneft” and, as an alternative to the “Neftchilar” bypass, from the 14th kilometer of the Baku-Salyan highway in the direction of the Lokbatan bypass, passing through the “20 Janvar” or Yeni Yasamal Territory on the Third Outer Ring Road.
At the same time, residents of Zone 20, the Bayil settlement, are advised to head towards the center via Gurban Abbasov Street, Teymur Elchin, Mehdi Huseyn and Lermontov streets.
At the same time, road traffic participants are asked to use private vehicles as little as possible during the race and to travel to the city centre only by public transport.
