JAKARTA – The Minister of Culture Fadley of Zones held a strategic meeting with the Genda Budai Foundation for further discussions related to the repair plan of the building of Abdullah Kamil. The meeting took place in the building of the Ministry of Culture, discussing the support of the improvement of the building, which were previously the center of cultural activity of the city of Padang and its environs.
Opening the meeting, Menbud Fadley emphasized his commitment to participating in the management and development of the building of Abdullah Kamil.
“Previously, we met with Park Sulaiman, a representative of the Abdullah Kamil family, and planned the repair of this building. It would be regrettable if further repair and maintenance was not completed, given that this building was once a place for various cultural events in the city of Padang and the surrounding areas, ”he said.
Thus, the continuation of the Fadley zone, his party is committed to participating in the role of the repair and reactionation of the building.
The building belonging to the Genta Budaya fund is a building that is currently abandoned, even if it functioned as a center of cultural activity, starting from research, seminars, discussions, exhibitions, to performances.
The Budai, founded by Abdullah Kamil in the Gentai Genta Foundation, resembling the Gadang House, standing in the territory of 4314 square meters provided by the Government of the city of Padang with the approval of the city of Padang, and was opened by Seaharto on May 7, 1992.
