The Ministry of Health and Consumption of the Government of Andalusia has detected the first case of West Nile virus (VNO) in the province of Cordoba. This is a woman. neighbor of La Ramblaa town bordering Montalbán, where the presence of the virus was detected this week in captures and who is admitted to the Reina Sofía Hospital.
The Ministry of Health confirmed this case to the city council and informs that the relevant control and prevention measures are being implemented.

The Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs of the Government of Andalusia announced this Monday that it had confirmed last week Seven new cases of West Nile virus (VNO) in two people from Mairena del Aljarafe, one person from Palomares del Río, another person from Aznalcázar, one from Bollullos de la Mitación, another from the Sevillian capital and one from the municipality of Jaén de Linares. Of these cases, three have already been discharged and the death of a person from Mairena with previous pathologies has been confirmed.
On the other hand, it also reported detecting the presence of VNO in the captures made in the Cádiz municipalities of Benalup Casas Viejas and Vejer de la Frontera; in the Sevillian municipality of Las Cabezas de San Juan; and in Montalbán in Córdoba.
