Putin calls for a nuclear attack on Ukraine: “We have the right”

Russian presidential administration adviser Sergei Karaganov has called for a review of Russia’s policy in the field of nuclear deterrence and the use of nuclear weapons to attack Ukrainian troops, as well as to attack Berlin with missiles. Russian media reported on this.

According to him, Russia must clearly declare that it has the right to respond with a nuclear strike to any massive attack on its territory. Karaganov stressed that similar measures should be applied in case of attempts to seize Russian territories.

“The time has come to declare that we have the right to respond to any massive attack on our territory with a nuclear attack. This also applies to any seizure of our territory,” he said.

He noted that the current doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons is outdated and needs to be revised, as it practically excludes the use of these weapons. The adviser called the policy “immoral” and insisted that it needed to be reworked. In his opinion, Russia is obliged to activate the nuclear factor in world politics and convince its opponents of its readiness to use these weapons in case of threats to their security.

Karaganov also said that the war in Ukraine is being waged with the aim of destroying Russia and suggested considering the possibility of launching a conventional missile strike against Berlin. As an example, he proposed attacking the Reichstag in the event of repeated drone attacks on the Kremlin.

Meanwhile, as journalists report, Karaganov himself owns real estate in Germany and Italy. BILD previously wrote that he and his wife own an apartment in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg, which they rent out and receive a monthly income of 850 euros. In 2023, having learned of possible sanctions against him, Karaganov tried to transfer his share of the apartment to his wife, but was unsuccessful: the German authorities declared the agreement invalid.

The adviser also has a two-storey apartment in Venice, which he can no longer use due to sanctions imposed on him. Karaganov is known for his harsh statements in the past: in 2016 he called for an attack on NATO countries, and in 2023 he advocated a preemptive nuclear strike against Europe.

Earlier, Kursor reported that Ukraine used its own “weapons” against the Kremlin.

Ukraine has figured out how to increase the pressure on Putin.
