The Provincial Court of Valencia has decreed the absolution of a woman accused of murdering her baby in the town of Vilamarxant after finding that the accused was suffering from a postpartum psychosis flare when he slit the eleven-month-old’s throat. However, she was placed on probation and subjected to medical treatment for five years.
The sentence pronounced vocally by the courts of Valencia took into consideration as a key element of the investigation the examinations of the psychiatrists of the Institute of Legal Medicine, who confirmed that the accused is irreproachable when presenting your powers completely cancelled due to postpartum psychosis, according to the newspaper Elevator-EMV.

The events occurred on February 27, 2023 in the Valencian town of Vilamarxant, when the 36-year-old mother slit the throat of her eleven-month-old baby with a kitchen knife and he jumped into the void from the roof of the building in which they resided.
The SAMU members treated the woman for severe multiple trauma and, after stabilizing her, evacuated her to the La Fe hospital in Valence. Some neighbors of the infanticide, shocked by the tragic event, suggested at the time that she was suffering from depression.
