“No one has ever been so dirty…”

Valentino Rossi don’t forget this 2015 MotoGP World Championship that lasted Jorge Lorenzo and in which he had several confrontations on the track against Marc Marquez. Almost a decade later, on Andrea Migno’s podcast, he returns to the charge against the current Gresini driver.

He was very harsh towards Marc, accusing him of being the “dirtiest” rider he has seen in the MotoGP world championship.

“No one among the car champions has ever fought to make another driver lose, that’s what sets the limit. Generally, those who have done certain things have done it for themselves, they were wrong to take advantage of it, because they wanted to win. “No one has ever been as dirty as him,” says the Italian.

And he continues: “He is a very strong driver, a champion. He always went quite far, very aggressive, but In 2015 he crossed the line. If you are bad at sports or aggressive, many people are on the verge of being dirty and I could give many examples…”.

The kick

He insists that he did not mean to shoot him and that “he fell”:He tried to knock me down three or four times and luckily I didn’t fall. I went up to him and looked at him and said: “Stop, what are you doing?” It’s just that we’re touching. I didn’t want to throw it, but it fell. That made me lose the World Cup, also because they made me start last in Valencia.”

For years he repeated that he “tried to help Lorenzo” during the World Cup: “If you have nothing to do with it, you are not even a teammate of one of the two, you must have the respect not to touch the balls of the others. You just have to make a career, try to win and that’s it. Who forces you to do something like that? In Sepang he hurt me and bothered me throughout the race.
