This morning, two soldiers were killed on the Quneitra-Damascus highway after being hit by a car.
This was reported by the Alexey Zheleznov Telegram channel.
Among the dead were a Syrian army officer serving in the 14th Division, as well as an Iranian officer associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ elite Quds Force, local sources said.
The latter was in Syria in the role of military advisor.
Recall that on the night of September 8-9, the IDF carried out numerous attacks on the outskirts of the city of Masyaf and attacked a chemical weapons production site.
Two Israeli IDF intelligence officials said the target of the attack was a major military center associated with chemical weapons development. The site was located near Masyaf, and local residents observed bright flashes and felt the effects of the airstrikes.
According to intelligence data, Iranian military specialists engaged in weapons production were located in the centre.
The Syrian military said the attack began on Sunday evening when Israeli aircraft launched strikes from northwestern Lebanon. The target was several military installations in central Syria. Syrian air defense systems attempted to repel the attack by shooting down some of the missiles fired.
Local medical services reported that 43 people were injured, some of them in critical condition.
Earlier, Kursor reported that Israel had significantly increased airstrikes in Syria.
The expert noted that Israel is gradually losing patience with Iran’s influence in Syria.
