The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaskaassured that the Government would begin the process of lowering the blood alcohol level, knowing that “Spanish society is ripe” to accept this change and further reduce road accidents. Sources from the Ministry of the Interior indicate that the intention is that, assuming the proposal of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), for the general blood level to be reduced to 0.2 grams per liter of alcohol in the blood, compared to 0.5 current.
