Kristina Schmitz was in the strip in July 1995 – as one of the last nurses on the spot. In the middle of chaos, a man presses a small child in his hand. He writes the name of the girl on a sheet of paper: Irma. A little later, he was stolen and shot by the army of the Republic of Srpsk – as one of the more than 8,000 victims of the genocide in Bosniyks during the war in Bosnia. Documentary podcast “IRMA. Child from the hook” Time Dedicated to these events in five episodes.

Christina Schmitz is in the center of the first episode. For German listeners: inside without reference to the region, your appearance offers a low -end recording. She tells how she, as a simple nurse, asks the responsible General Ratko Mladic to keep her patients with him – and how he treats them like irritating flies.

The second episode is accompanied by Irma Khasanovich, who was looking for a nurse as an adult woman who once held in her arms. She contacts you by e -mail and is looking for answers to the question of why she had to grow without her father, Nusreta Khasanovich.

This question is asked in the third part of the former Dutch soldier, the blue helmet Jerry Kremer, who stood next to him only when Irma was separated from his father. We are talking about fault: how can this genocide be made before the world, and should the UN soldiers intervene?

“Irma. Crazy child “

The fourth episode revolves around systematic executions and buried corpses in secondary mass graves, which should cover the degree of genocide. We hear the key witnesses of Drazhen Erdemovich, even part of the shooting team, perhaps the one who killed Nusret Khasanovich. In addition, the general responsibility of Serbia and the political context of the genocide are illuminated. The last part is dedicated to the man Nusreta Khasanovich: his life and are based on the memories of the surviving Ahmo Hasiche – his last days.

“Irma. A child from a cut ”is an impressive podcast with a strong main character: inside. Based on individuals, he conveys the degree of greatest crime in Europe from the end of the Second World War.

Important addition to Deutschlandfunk

The podcast shows weakness when the Bastian Barbner reporter describes his co-reporter Simona Gaulia, the impressions of the places of mass executions with such offers as “it was such a feeling, without shit.” This is a comparison and constant accent on how everything was “flagrant”, it would be better down.

Deutschlandfunk offers an important addition to the topic with Srebrenica from the Radio Gram format. It is also about the surviving Ahmo Hasichee and the recognized criminal Drazhena Erdemovich and the soldier of the blue helmet Rob Zomer.

Three themselves say more than an hour. It is important here the place that remains of the pain of the surviving Ahmo Hasich in order to describe the unimaginable and his processing in his own words.

Ö1 shows “30 years of the genocide from Srebrenica” from the series “Panorama magazine”, dedicated to the denial of the genocide in Serbia and among the Bosnian Serbs. The force of production is to realistically present this narrative and its background – no doubt that this is genocial denial, criminals sacrificed and condemned by peoples. The program “The role of churches in the genocides of Deutschlandfunk Kultur” is focused on the role of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the denial of genocide.

In the Deutschlandfunk Culture Series “Die Reportage” series, a half-hour program on the corridor-Bosnian struggle used with the slice genocide, neither the corridor nor the protagonist: inside it is crowded. The report is well told, but does not apply to the hook in detail. Unfortunately, genocide was perceived as an opportunity to draw attention to a completely different topic.
