The High Court of Justice of Castilla y León has confirmed the sentence of 16 years and 11 months against the former councilor of Ponferrada, Pedro Muñoz, found guilty of rendering his then wife paraplegic by throwing her from a terrace. The TSJ Chamber has rejected all the appeals filed in this case and maintains in full the sentence handed down in first instance.
It should be remembered that in January 2024, the León court sentenced the exile for the crime of aggravated injuries, with the aggravating circumstances of kinship and gender discrimination (12 years in prison), three crimes of domestic violence (9 months for the first, 9 months for the second and 11 months for the third) and one crime of habitual domestic violence (2 and a half years in prison).
