According to the Association of Retail Trade Enterprises, borscht products were much cheaper for Russians in August. Details were available today, September 12, TASS reports.
Thus, in large Russian chains, carrots fell in price by 19.05%, beets by 14.15%, white cabbage by 10.7%, potatoes by 5.9% and onions by 5.7%. The data is compared with July 2024.
“The drivers of deflation in retail chains were vegetable borscht,” – confirmed by the organization.
Other products also fell in price. For example, in August apples cost 7.5% less, granulated sugar 3.4%, noodles 0.8% and buckwheat 0.5%. Eggs and chicken meat continued to fall in price.
