“I am proud to bring to your attention the Loss and Damage Response Fund agenda. We have worked hard all year to make progress at COP29.”
Oku.Az reports that COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev said these words during his speech at the event titled “From commitments to action: optimizing the activity of the Loss and Damage Response Fund.”
He said that new important documents of the fund are currently being signed:
“The first document was signed with the Philippines, where the Fund’s headquarters is located, the second document was signed with the World Bank, and the third document was signed with the donor countries. In 2025, the Loss and Damage Response Fund will provide financial assistance to developing countries. We greatly appreciate the efforts of the countries that confirmed their commitments by signing these documents. “Ensuring financial flows will play an important role for vulnerable communities.”
