THE natural disaster caused by DANA changed the lives of many people in Valencia and also changed the political profile of Oscar Puente. Since the minister has been in charge of the Transport portfolio, he has made the news much more often for his controversial messages on social networks than for his management.
However, since the storm devastated Valencia on October 29, Puente showed a new, much more decisive side and set to work repairing flood damage to transport infrastructure across eastern Spain.
The minister was reporting minute by minute via their social networks of everything that happens with the roads and railways of Valencia. In addition, he leads work teams rebuilding much of the damaged infrastructure.
“There is no other choice at this time than to dedicate ourselves to reconstruction” Puente said this morning at a press conference. This new facet has caused social networks to be filled with praise for a minister who, until now, was the target of most criticism of the government.
