“As you know, at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), held in Baku, Karabakh took the initiative to create a joint alliance of football clubs in the fight against climate change. This is COP29 and the UN Sports and Climate supported by the Department for Change (UNFCCC).
This was stated by Asif Asgarov, member of the board of directors of Karabakh, in his statement to AZERTAC, referring to the initiative of the representative of Agdam to create a joint alliance of football clubs in the fight against climate change.
He said that Karabakh organizes this event together with the European Club Association (ECA): “Eminent European clubs welcomed our invitation. I can say that we have given preference mainly to clubs that are doing great work on climate change in Europe. About 10 or 12 representatives will visit our capital and hold talks. I hope we can sign a declaration. The next objective will be to increase the number of clubs and commitments.
It should be noted that the event related to the initiative of football clubs to create a joint alliance in the fight against climate change will take place on November 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the “Nasimi” room of the Blue Zone .
