The Second Vice President and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, demanded that the Popular Party “act in Spanish” within European institutions and stop being partisan, at the same time as he describes Teresa Ribera’s candidacy for vice-president as “pride”.
Asked by journalists at a press conference in Toledo about the Popular Party’s proposal to postpone the evaluation of the six candidates for vice-president of the new Commission, Díaz defended that It is “magnificent news” that Teresa Ribera is appointed to a position of “highest authority” to the European Commission.
He argued that after the country suffered a “climate emergency” disaster, we found ourselves “in good hands”and described the appointment as Ribera as “key to our country”. It is for this reason that he demanded that the Popular Party behave “like the Germans or the French”that “for once, he takes the side of the Spanish people” and that he “leaves aside his partisan interests”.
Díaz recalled that she is not a member of the same party as Teresa Ribera, but considers that her position in Europe It is “a source of pride for our country”.
