La Heredera entered Marín on August 30 and is preparing for the training cruise of the Juan Sebastián Elcano
Almost 15 days after entering the Naval Military School of Marín, Princess Leonor went out yesterday afternoon to sail along the Pontevedra estuary with a group of three other young midshipmen. It is a routine exercise that young students carry out every week and which is part of maritime education activities.
In the photo that the Navy published via its X account (former Twitter), you can see the princess wearing the sailing sports uniform from the Naval Military School, a life jacket yellow in color and regulation bun. With her, on board the small training sailboat, they sailed three companions who study with the Princess in third year.
As ABC learned, this is a maritime training course that takes place every week at the Naval Military School and in which different courses alternate. Yesterday, it was the turn of the third year studentsPrincess Leonor’s course.
For young aspirants, this type of training is essential as future Navy officers so that they know the maritime environment. For Princess Leonor, who has just entered the Naval Military School after completing her first military training course at the General Academy of the Army, this instruction is essential, since next January she will embark on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano for her 97th training cruise.
