Addition of the various head offices of Andalusia There were 28,072 requests for help; 2,314 were for loneliness and 883 referred to suicidal behavior. At the state level, this figure rises to 91,108 requests for help, of which 10,273 (11%) referred to loneliness and more than 3,000 in which there were suicidal thoughts, a suicidal crisis or an act in progress.
The Telephone of Hope released this data to celebrate World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10.

“It is a problem that affects all of society and yet more and more young people and adolescents are asking for help,” warns the organization, “which is why it is so important to carry out campaigns that have an impact on social networks such as #connectTEalife or have tools like Chatting with hope“, a prototype of an instant messaging service that is much more agile and adapted to the communication needs of young people and adolescents.
“The idea in creating this mosaic of images and connections is to encourage everyone to find their own motivation and to offer a safe space where they can share it, both on networks and in centers, where they can perhaps connect with other people who are experiencing something similar,” adds the clinical psychologist and vice-president of the association, Magdalena Perez Trenado.
