“Queen”, a collection of British label Soul Jazz, unites 16 international artists. In addition to genre boxes, they confidently create their own sound worlds. This is a typical publication of the London label.
Since the 1990s, Soul Jazz has mainly dusty dusty musical treasures from around the world and revives them in carefully curatorial collections. London label does not follow any specific stylistic pattern. Whether it is Afroun from Lagos, a dance hall from Jamaica or Great Britain-Drill: even these descriptions are not enough to take advantage of the relevant artists of the last collection of label.
The “queen” begins brilliant. The opening song immediately has a concentrated load on experiments with the soil: a hard, almost mechanical blow that pushes itself under the obsessive tones of a gray sound signal and distorted synthesizers. The French producer Coucou Chloe, originally published in 2020 as a single as the only one published in England, can be stylistically between industrial technologies, a dark room and a trap.
The installation sound of the Pallus
With her idiosinratic sound palette, the young artist (who also works as a model) made her twice on the album. Her track “PokerFace” also falls into the same recess: KUS -s -Music, sound signals and roar. As if the artist wanted to take a step forward with each claw – her listeners were a musical stress -test.
From the dream of dark fever, Sudan with a “selfish soul” again pulls out. The track begins with a similar driving, an angular blow, but quickly brings lightness in a musical vanity from a memorable melodies. With her voice, the American singer dances in the rhythm, as if she was rotating around the internal conflict: “If I put it right / will they like me more?” Sudan archive rap and sings about its hair and adaptation to the ideals of social beauty.
The choir doubts the self -esteem: “About the time I hug myself and the soul / time when I fed my selfish soul.” With the associated album, Sudan Archives achieved its breakthrough in 2022 and has since creates a mental sound world between jazz, Soul and hip -hop.
Light and cheerful
The next track is similarly frivolous, but more cheerful: with a “meeting with me in Brooklyn”, the singer of the United States Jay Bay from New York, leads her listeners on a walk along the beach on Yamaika: carefree regions, where the compilation previously juggles between rude hectic, energetic aphrobera and experimental electricity.
On his second track, “Best Tang”, Yai Bey, shows himself with a powerful voice from her sincere side: “I am the best that when the liba happened to you.” And with guitar reef – with novelty on the album with electronic image.

And the Japanese British artist cannot be stuck in the genre. She confidently baptized her musical and creative cosmos: a sound universe in which she playfully dealt with the concept of femininity, sometimes with her own origin. In “1013” she knocks and sings her dreamy voice with a bent hip-hop by an accordion in Japanese, English and English.
Between hypnosis and madness
Until the end, the Drama of the “queen” should not be clear stress, but the changes between hypnotic dreams and a pulsation dance mood. But the finale, the “Love Train”, is exactly in the right place. For the first time, the music becomes jazz, and the turbulent Soundinput can calm down slowly, but right. With the American Latin, Nira Perez “Koroleva” brings the artist to the radar, who was still known mainly as the leading singer of the Group of Dani Selena Amor prohibits, and a surprise here as a solo voice.
The choice of “Queen” dares here and makes you curious about artists. Together, songs create more than just the amount for the musical space, sometimes the music captivates, sometimes the collision of sound is overloaded in the genre. Sometimes it seems that you are mistaken with a maze in which too many elements are fighting for attention at the same time. The next moment, this confusion is fun again.
