The UPN asks the City Hall to commit to placing sculptures of significant women in the history of Pamplona and Navarre

The municipal group of the UPN obtained this Tuesday that the Pamplona City Hall is committed to “placing sculptures of women who have been relevant in the history of Pamplona and Navarre, but they do not yet have representation of this type on the streets of the city.

The approach defended by the regionalists was institutionally approved, that is to say, it received the support of all municipal groups in the Pamplona Town Hall.

“There is a city council guide which includes the evolution of art in our city and We have observed how women who have been very important for Pamplona and Navarre continue They still don’t have a space that recognizes them. This is the case with queens Leonor of Trastámara and Blanca of Navarrewho lack sculptures or statues that represent them in Pamplona, as does, for example, King Carlos III, husband of the first and father of the second”, they say from the UPN.

For all these reasons, the regionalists have proposed that this initiative to represent the most outstanding women in the history of Pamplona and Navarra begins with these two queens, since both have a place dedicated to their name in the capital Navarrese which could accommodate these sculptures. Likewise, the regionalists asked to work “pidentify and recognize the most relevant women “it would perhaps be worth having a sculptural representation in Pamplona”, for which all the groups were in favor.
