Nearly 10 million people in Ukraine are at risk of developing mental disorders, and this number may increase in the near future.
This was stated yesterday by the Director of the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Hans Klugespeaking at a press conference in Kyiv.
“One of the concerns about winter is the risk of increased mental health problems. We estimate that nearly 10 million people in Ukraine are at risk of mental disorders, ranging from mild to severe.” – he stated.
The WHO representative also stressed that the ongoing fighting, now in its third year, and the approaching winter conditions could only worsen the problem.
