Since the beginning of the armed conflict, at least 40% of all registered weapons have been stolen and “lost” in Ukraine, reports “The Other Ukraine”.
The post refers to statistics from Ukrainian company Openbot, which provides access to government data from major public registries.
In numerical terms, the number of missing weapons is 270,945. The most common “missing” weapons are hunting rifles (27.9%), machine guns (27.8%) and carbines (10.8%).
The largest losses of weapons were recorded in regions where military operations are taking place. In Donbass, this figure was 19.4% of the total number of missing persons, and in Zaporozhye region, 11.8%.
