The academic year is just around the corner. This year, tens of thousands of students will be introduced to university for the first time. One of the main issues related to higher education institutions is the disciplinary rules that every student must follow.

In addition to the general regulations, all higher education institutions have their own internal disciplinary regulations.

Modern.az conducted a survey among higher education institutions on the topic.

from Baku Slavic University (BSU) stated that the existing internal disciplinary regulations at BSU are the main document defining the standards of ethical behavior, rights and duties of persons studying and teaching:

“These rules are intended to maintain order within the university, create a healthy and business-like atmosphere in the educational process. At the same time, they are intended to prevent negative situations that may occur at the university and improve the moral qualities of the student body.

According to these rules, all students must follow the principles of the rule of law, equality, justice, humanism and cultural behavior. At the same time, various disciplinary measures may be applied to students who violate the disciplinary rules, from warning to expulsion from the university.

from Azerbaijan University of Languages According to the information provided, the university is based on internal, general and accepted standards.

Khazar University said the higher education institution has 397 pages of internal disciplinary rules: “Both employees and students must follow these rules and laws.”

from Azerbaijan State University of Architecture and Construction (AZMIU) it was noted that the rules of internal discipline in AZMIU, as well as in other higher education institutions, are determined by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan:

“Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction also has internal disciplinary regulations. These regulations serve to organize a better teaching process, create a competitive learning environment, and provide students with a high level of education, preparing them for society as patriotic citizens. As an example of our internal disciplinary regulations, we can say that it is not allowed to disrupt the class process by talking loudly. The use of alcohol and tobacco products on the university premises is prohibited. Ethical behavior based on internal respect must be shown. All these regulations serve to create a better educational environment.”

from the University of Azerbaijan According to the information provided, every student studying at the university must follow some rules:

“Students shall abide by the University Statutes, bylaws, orders and orders of the rector, decisions of the Scientific Council and other regulations, protect the property of the University, report any violations they encounter to the responsible personnel of the University. They shall not engage in improper and prohibited actions on behalf of the student, create order in the University and shall support its protection, shall not take actions that hinder the normal progress of the teaching process, shall be careful and respectful to fellow students, University employees, shall not take actions contrary to the reputation and moral values ​​of the University, shall respect and protect national values.

from Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) was informed that there are “Interuniversity Disciplinary Rules for Students” of UNEC:

“Rules of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Law “On Education”, “Rules for the organization of education at the undergraduate and master’s levels of higher educational institutions, basic (higher basic) medical education and the credit system of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences at the Master’s Level”, “Model of Ethical Standards of Participants in the Educational Process” were developed in accordance with other legislative acts. The standards are based on the principles of equality, justice and humanism, and the main goal is to strengthen the teaching-learning discipline among students and to form in them a conscious approach to the educational process.”

It was noted that the regulations are sent to the personal electronic cabinet of all students admitted to UNEC.

from Azerbaijan Technical University It was stated that there are a number of restrictions for students to improve the educational process:

Preventing the teacher from giving the lesson during lectures, exercises and laboratory classes, preventing classes without excuse during class hours, making noise in the auditorium, corridor and courtyard, using mobile phones, music players and other devices not related to class during class hours (after the class has started, all mobile phones must be switched off), writing, painting, damaging property, any advertisements, announcements, information, etc. on the walls of educational buildings, auditoriums, corridors. These prohibitions include placing leaflets with character and using tobacco products (as well as electronic cigarettes) in all educational buildings and on the territory of the university.
