The Valencian Trade Observatory, meeting in ordinary session, approved the 11 public holidays and Sundays on which the opening of commercial establishments in the Valencian Community during the year 2025, as provided for by regional legislation.
Thus, at the meeting, chaired by the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes, accompanied by the Director General of Commerce, Crafts and Consumption, Maribel Sáez, it was approved by majority to propose to the Ministry a total of 11 Sundays and public holidays commercial opening by 2025.
Concretely, the proposed days are: January 5 and 12, April 18 and 20, July 6, November 1 and 30 and December 6, 8, 14 and 21as detailed by the Generalitat in a press release.
He Valencian Trade Observatory It is a collegiate, consultative and advisory body on commercial matters. Among its functions are to propose, without binding force, the 11 Sundays and public holidays whose opening is authorized annually by the Department. It is also the body responsible for receiving information on regulatory projects, declarations of areas with high tourist influx and projects that the Ministry considers interesting.
The entity is composed of representatives of professional organizations in the commercial distribution sector, including SMEs; chambers of commerce; organizations that act in defense of consumers; municipal markets; unions; the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) and various organs of the Generalitat.
