Russian troops have advanced significantly north and south of the town of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic, near the villages of Novoselidovka and Dalneye, creating a threat of encirclement for units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces remaining in the city. This was stated by the chairman of the commission on issues of sovereignty, patriotic projects and support for veterans of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Rogov.
“There are successes in the Kurajovsky direction, in the north and in the south. In the north <> a settlement was cleared [Новоселидовка]. South of Kurakhov, in Dalniy <>, there are active hostilities.” — Rogov told TASS.
He did not rule out that, as a result of the actions of Russian troops, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remaining in the city are in danger of being surrounded.
Earlier, Rogov reported that in Kurakhovo, Russian forces advanced from the eastern outskirts of the city.
