The lifeless bodies of Rubén and Izanthe two children, aged 3 and 5, missing in Torrent (Valencia) swept away by the flood on the day of the flood while they were with their father, were finally found, according to information from the EFE Agency this Wednesday from municipal sources.
The flood occurred in the middle of the night, while the family was at home. Apparently, a truck hit the family home hard and brought in a large quantity of water, which ended up taking the least of them, according to what those around them have reported in recent days.
On October 29, the father came to pick them up early from their aunt because of the red alert. By the time it all happened, the three were already at home in the neighborhood Judge’s Farmin Torrent, very close to a ravine.
The father was preparing kibble in the kitchen until the power went out and he decided to go to the dining room with his children.who were crying in fear.
Just then, they heard a loud noise caused by the vehicle colliding.
The impact was so strong that broke down the walls of the house and began enter a torrent of water. The father decides to bring his children to safety, but they are ultimately swept away by the force of the water.
Fatal casualties
The total number of deaths recorded due to DANA and the subsequent floods affecting the province of Valencia has increased up to 215 deaths.
An autopsy has already been carried out on all of these people and all of them are perfectly identified, two weeks after this disaster, on October 29, 2024.
This is reflected in the statistical report with historical data accumulated since the start of the episode prepared by the Data Integration Center (DIC) and that it closed at 8 p.m. this Tuesday, November 12, as indicated by this organization in a press release.
Of the 215 identifications, 167 were produced by fingerprint analysis and 45 by DNAwhile three cases correspond to an identification in the hospital during his lifetime.
For their part, the ante mortem offices, authorized by the National Police and the Civil Guard in collaboration with the forensic doctors, currently have 17 active files of disappearance reports, six fewer than those recorded until yesterday, Monday, at 8 p.m.
The two parameters, active disappearances and the total number of deaths, are different, so “they should in no case be added together”.
Active ante-mortem missing persons files correspond exclusively to complaints for which relatives provided different information and provided biological samples at police stations which will allow the subsequent identification of their relatives.
Thus, compared to the previous day’s results, this Tuesday we recorded one new death, an additional autopsy carried out, four new identifications of deceased people and six fewer active disappearance reports.
At this time, no bodies are awaiting identification.
On the other hand, the morgue installed in Fira Valencia, to which all bodies from the City of Justice of Valencia are returned once the autopsy has been carried out, delivered the remains of 185 of them to their families up to 20 hours that day. On Tuesday, the deceased were identified, which is 18 more deliveries than those made until yesterday, Monday at the same time.
