The night passed without almost any emergency in the province of Malaga. The worst forecasts are expected in the morning with a deluge which activated the red alert from 10:00 a.m.. In the meantime, tranquility reigns with the proper functioning of the measures adopted on Tuesday night with 3,000 people expelled along the entire bank of the Guadalhorce river. Of which only around thirty people spent the night in authorized sports centers.

The orientation of the Emergency Plan before Flood risk decided on Tuesday evening, based on technical reports, weather forecasts and in coordination with the municipalities concerned, the preventive evacuation of the banks of the Guadalhorce, in particular of the points of Álora, Cártama, Alhaurín de la Torre, Pizarra and the capital Malaga.

At this moment there is only 30 people accommodated: two in Alhaurín de la Torre and 28 in Málaga, the others moved to second homes or to relatives and friends.

The Junta de Andalucía has made itself available to the municipalities concerned to respond to the needs of the evicted Malaga residents and maintains the members of the volunteer groups of Civil Protection and the Red Cross pre-alert meet all necessary requirements to ensure the well-being of displaced people.

Suspension of classes

Civil Protection sent at 10:30 p.m. last night a massive message to cell phones in the areas affected by the red notice Axarquía, Sol and Guadalhorce with a call to exercise extreme caution and follow self-protection advice and to call 112 in case of emergency.

Municipalities on alert

In the province of Granada there is also an orange warning for precipitation in the Genil basin and on the coast of Granada from 4 a.m. and all day Wednesday, where intense rains of up to 40 liters per square meter in an hour.

Additionally, yellow warnings are active for the same phenomenon in Ronda (from 03:00 to Wednesday end of the day), the Sierra Sur in Seville, the Subbética of Córdoba (in both cases from 06:00 to 18:00) and the Sierra Nevada and the Alpujarras (from 03:00 to 18:00 (06:00 to midnight).
