“In Azerbaijan, the transition to an hourly wage system is being discussed. Official information has already been published on this matter. If such a mechanism is implemented, wages will not be calculated monthly, but hourly.”
This was stated in a statement to Baku.ws by Vugar Bayramov, a deputy of the sixth convocation of the Milli Majlis, a scientific economist.
According to him, the calculation of hourly wages can lead, on the one hand, to the realization of wage increases for our citizens.
“At the same time, our citizen can work not in one, but in several workplaces with different working hours. This will be one of the factors leading to an increase in his salary. Taking into account international experience, special coefficients should be applied to the salaries of our citizens who work on these non-working days and after working hours and may lead to higher salaries.
In general, this is a mechanism that is applied in both new and developed countries, and its peculiarity is that the higher valuation of the wages and work of our citizens is realized in reality. In this regard, the introduction of a new mechanism can lead to an increase in wages.
Of course, the criteria will be determined at this time. In addition, the minimums for hourly wages will be known. The minimum hourly payments should also be adjusted to the amount of the monthly minimum wage and should be higher. The process of developing a new mechanism is already underway. After discussions, it will become clear when it will be implemented. In all cases, the application of this mechanism represents an innovation in the wage system.”
