SNCF to impose fines on TGV InOui passengers for non-compliance with its luggage regulations, starting Monday

TGV InOui passengers are warned: from Monday 16 September, reminders from SNCF agents about the size of their luggage will be converted into fines. After an “adaptation” period that began in February, passengers can now be fined €50 or even €150 if they pay too much. “in case of obstruction to traffic in the corridors”the railway company recalls on its website.

On February 15, SNCF changed its luggage policy on board TGV and Intercity trains and now imposes a maximum of two large suitcases and one piece of hand luggage per person. On social media, reactions from travellers have multiplied since February, often accusing the SNCF of wanting to make ever more financial profits. The company justified itself by explaining that it wanted to limit abuses. Some customers were already used to it, since Ouigo trains are subject to limits.
