Chinese authorities have responded to reproaches from Vladimir Zelensky, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the Chinese-Brazilian initiative for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, TASS reports.
“We will continue to promote peaceful dialogue and negotiation process, and play a constructive role in the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.” – said the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a briefing. Mao Ning.
The diplomat recalled that Beijing maintains contacts with kyiv on relevant issues, including the six-point consensus between China and Brazil, which already has the support of more than 110 countries.
“This initiative aims to de-escalate the conflict and prevent the risk of its expansion, achieve a ceasefire, protect global supply chains, increase humanitarian assistance and prevent the use of nuclear weapons.” – Mao Ning added.
Earlier, in an interview with the Brazilian Internet portal Metropoles, Zelensky sharply criticized and called destructive the plan of Brazil and China to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. He expressed his belief that this peace initiative was allegedly previously discussed with Russia.
