The Civil Guard of Soutomaior dismantled a drug sales point in the city and arrested two people accused of an alleged drug trafficking crime.
The investigation began after alarms were raised among the neighbours of a drug sales point, located in the middle of the Camino de Santiago, which attracted many drug addicts with the consequent crime that this implies, in a section which is traveled by thousands of pilgrims on these dates.
The operation took place last Tuesday, when officers stopped a woman who was leaving a home which was then searched. Inside the house, they seized 38 grams of cocaine, 17 grams of heroin, 9 additional doses already laminated, as well as tools for packaging and weighing, several mobile phones, 255 euros in cash, weapons and simulated vehicles.
The operation ended yesterday with the 52-year-old man arresteda neighbor of Soutomaior, who was hiding in the house and had numerous criminal records for similar crimes, in addition to several prison warrants. His companion was also arrested.a 35-year-old woman, resident of Ponte Caldelas, in charge of distributing narcotics. The woman used several high-powered electric scooters to move quickly without being detectedwhich allowed him to distribute the substances to various poorly monitored points in the city.
The two detainees are accused of crimes against public health and drug traffickingThe procedure, as well as this one, will be made available this morning to the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 1 of Redondela.
The team also participated in the operation EBIO of Porriño, USECIC, the canine team, a patrol from the company of Civil Guard of Vigo and Local Police of Soutomaior.
