“There is always the concern of removing the sludge from the sewers, so that it can flow properly, in a few hours when we look to the sky for the warning of a new DANA. “It is important to pay attention to alerts and follow all recommendations.”

This is how the government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, expressed herself this Wednesday on social networks, regarding the arrival of a new storm this Thursday.

The localities affected by DANA on October 29 in the province of Valencia urge citizens and volunteers working on their reconstruction to avoid travel, while maintaining the current weather alert for showers with thunderstorms and strong winds.

This Wednesday, the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the Federation of Commercial Areas of the Valencian Community highlighted the importance of maintaining ravines and river channels in good condition to mitigate risks in the event of further precipitation.

Furthermore, the clogging of certain sewerage networks could cause new overflows in the event of rain, for which specific machines are also necessary to evacuate the sludge from the clogged sewerage network.

Councilor Nuria Montes reported on the progress made in cleaning roads and accesses and in removing mud and debris thrown into the industrial areas affected by the damage.

At this stage, progress has been made in cleaning the roads in several business parks such as Beniparrell, thanks to the arrival of heavy machinery contracted by Ivace+i. These advances extend to the rest of the business parks and a gradual increase in works is expected to return normality to these industrial areas as soon as possible to facilitate their recovery and reactivation for businesses.

In this sense, the ministry also highlighted the need to carry out as a priority an exhaustive cleaning of high toxicity points, where food and other decomposing products accumulate.
