Defense of actor Artur Smolyaninov***who escaped from Russia and is now in Latvia, appealed the arrest of the artist in absentia. The corresponding appeal was received by the Moscow Basmanny Court, RIA Novosti reports.
A preventive measure was chosen in the form of arrest in absentia against Smolyaninov*** as part of a criminal case for falsifications about the army and incitement to hatred.
“The court has received an appeal” – they said in the Basmanny court.

It was clarified that he was accused of committing a crime provided for in subsection “a” of section 2 of art. 282 (Incitement to hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity), sections “b”, “d”, section 2 of art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation).
He was detained for 2 months from the moment of his extradition to the territory of Russia, or from the moment of his arrest on the territory of the Russian Federation.
