The National Police arrested in the Valencian town of Burjassot a 25-year-old man of Moroccan nationality with a criminal record as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of robbery with violence and injuries after allegedly intimidating and assaulting another man in the face with a glass bottle and unsuccessfully attempting to steal his mobile phone.
The alleged perpetrator, who fled, was arrested a few moments later with the bottle with which he had hit the victim after refuse to hand over the phoneas reported by the police in a press release.
The incident took place last Thursday, around 8 a.m., when citizen security officers, while patrolling the Empalme station area, observed a man bleeding from a wound in his eyebrow.
The victim told officers that moments before, while she was walking, a man came up to her, showed her a glass bottle and, in an attempt to intimidate her, asked for her cell phone. So a fight occurred due to the victim’s refusal to hand it over.
Having failed to snatch the bag containing the terminal from him, the alleged attacker violently hit him in the face with the bottle and fled the scene without achieving his objective.
Quickly, several teams from the National Police and the Local Police of Burjassot coordinated to provide assistance to the victim and begin the search for the attacker, who was located in a nearby park.
At the time of his arrest, the officers verified that he was still carrying the glass bottle used to injure the victim, who then had to be treated in a health center for the injuries suffered. The detainee was brought to court and was released with precautionary measures.
