Former Prime Minister Felipe González met on Friday with Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González, who is in Spain with the intention of requesting political asylum.
The meeting takes place after the Congress of Deputies urged the government to recognize González Urrutia as president of Venezuela, despite the vote against the PSOE, which calls for a common position within the European Union and to have “a margin of mediation” with the government of Venezuela.
