AZERTAC reports that Shina Ansari, who congratulated the President of Azerbaijan on the occasion of COP29 in our country, conveyed the greetings of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, to the Head of our State.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to the Head of State of Iran.
Recalling with satisfaction the telephone conversation with Masoud Pezeshkian after his election as President, the Head of State emphasized that after the election of Masoud Pezeshkian as Head of State, delegations from different levels of the government of Azerbaijan visited Iran.
Shina Ansari said that there are very good relations between Iran and Azerbaijan and stressed that our relations have a historical character.
During the conversation, joint projects on the Araz River, the construction of the Hydroelectric Power Plant and our cooperation in the field of the environment were mentioned, and the importance of the activity of the intergovernmental commission was highlighted.
The North-South transport corridor and joint cooperation between Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran were discussed.
The meeting addressed the issue of eliminating the environmental problems of the Caspian Sea and the current decline in the water level in the Caspian Sea, and the importance of cooperation between bordering countries in this regard was highlighted.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed concern over the discharge of waste from Armenia’s mining industry into the Araz River and its negative impact on the ecological condition of the river.
During the conversation, opinions were exchanged on various aspects of bilateral relations.
