The so-called “Turkish hackers” to whom the PP government team of the Oviedo City Hall attributed, on September 26, the comment published on the official profile of the Municipal Foundation of Culture (FMC) on the social network asked this. the Asturian singer Rodrigo Cuevas is censored so that he cannot offer two concerts scheduled for next December at the Campoamor theater in the Asturian capital. This is what a municipal technical report commissioned by the municipality itself reveals.

The conclusions of this report were published on Wednesday by the Municipal Socialist Group, which demanded the purging of responsibilities and regretted “the worrying tendency of Mayor Alfredo Canteli’s team to censor and lie to citizens.”

The excuses

The controversial comment that appeared on the CulturaOviedo profile read: “I see with surprise this tweet in which the singer Rodrigo Cuevas also complains about censorship. Isn’t it true that you are going to give 2 concerts in December at the Campoamor Theater? On the other hand, I would like them to censor it.

This text was retweeted with the advertising of a Turkish airline and later, faced with the controversy that arose, the FMC, chaired by the cultural councilor David Álvarez, of the PP, assured that the account had been hacked.

Their explanations had no basis given that when an account is hacked, its owner cannot write or interact with it. However, the excuse was offered by the supposedly hacked account itself.

“We are suffering from computer hacking. “We are forced to temporarily suspend this account,” wrote – literally – the municipality in the “hacked” account.

Socialist councilor Jorge García Monsalve took it upon himself to deny the municipality itself by making this report public. This morning he held a press conference where he pointed out that Canteli’s team had propagated a fake hack and, instead of immediately clarifying himself, he said he had opted for a “headlong flight, in ignoring the truth about “Oviedo’s neighbors”.

The report prepared by cybersecurity firm CIES completely ruled out the existence of any unauthorized access or malware on the phone of the person managing the account. And in his conclusions, he warns that this incident does not require notification to the National Cryptological Center (CCN) or the security forces, thus confirming that there was no hacking.

“We are faced with a situation which demonstrates, once again, the modus operandi of the government team, based on the concealment of the truth and the deception of citizens to protect their own errors,” declared the socialist councilor.

The “manipulation” of a management error

For García Monsalve, with this tactic, the government team tried to “manipulate a management error”, transforming it into an invention of “Turkish hackers” to conceal what, according to him, was in reality simply “political irresponsibility and communication. “.

During his appearance before the media, he recalled that this was not the only time that the team led by Alfredo Canteli used censorship and cited as an example the case of the cancellation in San Mateo of the DJ’s performance Isaac Corrales from Oviedo.

Isaac Corrales’ participation in the San Mateo festivities fell from the planned poster in La Ería, on September 20, just a few hours before going on stage, coinciding with the publication on his social networks of an image of the streets of the city completely empty. next to the emoticon of a cactus and a desert ball. The Councilor for Culture, Covadonga Díaz, has always denied that this is the real cause of the cancellation and has limited the suspension to a problem of adjusting schedules.

The “political deception” of citizens

Councilor García Monsalve asked this morning that the government team take responsibility for the lies in the case of a hack that never existed and urged Mayor Canteli to “act on this subject” to prevent these practices from continuing to obscure the transparency of the room. administration.

“It is inconceivable that accusations of hacking are being made when the City Hall’s own reports deny it. This cannot be done without a forceful response,” he added.

The councilor stressed that his group will continue to ask for explanations in the relevant forums and does not rule out taking additional measures if the government team does not assume the consequences of what he described as “political deception”. on citizens.
