In this regard, he stressed the importance of the agenda of the first session of the Azerbaijan-Russia Financial Dialogue and the decisions to be taken here.

S. Sharifov said that the development of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation is satisfactory and the scope of mutual activities is expanding year by year. The Minister expressed the importance of institutionalizing and systematically carrying out the Azerbaijan-Russia Financial Dialogue, which will determine the expansion and further development of cooperation in all areas, including mutual financial and economic activity, exchange of experience, budgetary and tax policy, public finance management.

The parties observed the implementation of cooperation between the financial institutions of the two countries on separate issues related to budgetary policy and auditing activity, exchanged views on assessing the macroeconomic situation and new challenges, and shared their experiences in the direction of minimizing risks.

During the meeting, forecasting and analysis of budget revenues, including oil revenues, fiscal policy and public debt management were identified as promising directions for expanding cooperation.

As a result of discussions held within the framework of the dialogue, the finance ministers agreed to take practical measures and hold technical consultations at the expert level for the implementation of initiatives that meet the interests of both countries in the financial field.

The parties also confirmed the importance of joint cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in multilateral platforms such as the UN and the CIS, as well as within the framework of international financial institutions.
